St. Oliver's National School, Carlingford, Co. Louth

Blue Star Award

The Blue Star Programme  is an education initiative for primary school pupils across Ireland. The idea of the Programme is to learn about the European Union and how it affects the lives of Irish citizens among primary pupils through classroom projects and activities in relation to the four key elements: History, Geography, Culture & Creativity, and Institutions of the EU.

MEP Colm Markey presented us with a European Union Flag after successfully completing the Blue Star Programme.

St Oliver's NS have earned six Blue Star Programme awards to date. We were awarded a special plaque after five years participating. Our students continue to learn about and teach each other all about the EU in fun and creative ways!
